  1. Talked me in to buying a book I probably would have overlooked. I look forward to other VBT’s to come.

  3. I think you should have writers banging on your door for this sort of publicity. Though, as with other online “projects”, I suppose that interest will wane after some time and far less attention will be paid to these sorts of tours. Perhaps the trick is to space them out appropriately, as was the case between this tour and others.

  5. I think the VBT is quite excting! Here are some thoughts:
*VBT bloggers will have to go beyond the normal “heads up” and really do something different with the book. I depend on blogs as a filter for content, but the VBT book is pre-filtered (sorry for the pre-verb), so the websites need to do more (and the majority did). Interviews, audioblogs, author as guest blogger, related info and other sites.
*Be selective and varied. Mary’s book was perfect. It has widespread appeal AND it’s weird. That makes it fun to talk about.
*Rotate VBT members. As a reader, I’m also trying out each blog. Have some ringers, but carefully expand. This will also keep the whole venture from getting too insular.
I thought it was a smashing success, and I enjoyed following along. Huzzah!
