Fast Food Linklater:

This just in: Richard Linklater has been tapped to direct a fictionalized adaptation of Eric Schlosser’s mega-important book "Fast Food Nation". I’ve been following Linklater’s career since his debut film Slacker (1991) and its follow-up Dazed and Confused which was the offical movie of my group of college friends. And since I once day asprie to write a book as good as FFN, this couldn’t a happier confluence of events.

  3. Kevin: You can start by learning how to spell “aspire” correctly. 🙂
viplav: As for finishing any book, there’s always William Faulkner’s advice: If you can’t understand a book, read it five times. Eventually, understanding will settle in. Part of being a reader is discipline. That involves looking up words and references you don’t know, writing down passages, thoughts and notes (all of this is valid), and otherwise devoting your attentions at to understanding what an author has to say. Sometimes, it isn’t easy. But if you stick at it (and it doesn’t matter if it’s “Fast Food Nation” or “Absalom! Absalom!”), eventually, the a-ha moment comes. Keep at it. It’s completely worth it.
