  1. Hmm, that’s eerie. Well one difference is I’m on Friendster and not Tribe. 😉

  3. My take on it (since I’m the one currently pimping Tribe.net to my friends): think of Tribe.net as a fusion of Craigslist and Friendster. Right now, Friendster is built basically to let people build social networks, but the functionality that’s built in is basically designed for dating/meeting new people. Tribe.net, on the other hand, is much more flexible, allowing for communication of many types, from business/job networking to buying/selling of goods (plus the old standby of dating). In short, as someone in a relationship, Friendster is a fun toy to play with, but I can imagine how Tribe.net might actually be useful to me, both personally and professionally.

  5. i think the similarity ends with the ability to create tribes around specific themes. i’ve created a mirror project tribe to see how some aspects of community might complement the site. can’t do that with friendster.

  7. Ok now I get it. I think a VBT tribe might be in order.

  9. Do you guys have an equivalent of http://friendsreunited.co.uk ?
Its gone down a storm in the UK, basically you can get in touch with old school friends.
I think it was the most popular website in the UK last year.

  11. We’ve got something called Classmates.com which is a bit of a sham but seems to serve that function.
