Waste not, lunch much…
Ever seen the garbage cans after lunch period in a school cafeteria? You might as well start digging a landfill right under the swing set. That is, until a few million kids (I’ll even take a few dozen) start using Laptop Lunches, an easy way to carry around your midday meal and not have to throw the carrying case away. What a great idea.
Do any parents read this blog? Maybe? Well, some of you bring your lunch to work/school right? How about trying one a these?

Um…isn’t this pretty much what we used to call a “lunch box”? Except this one comes with its own Tupperware and doesn’t have any pictures of Snoopy on it (like mine did, back in 1st grade). Or am I totally missing something here?

Looks like it. And why don’t they have Snoopy pictures for that matter?

The problem with traditional lunchboxes is that parents stuff them with single-serve prepackaged foods and foods packed in disposable baggies, foil, and plastic wrap. Single serve packages can’t be resealed so all the leftover food ends up in the trash as well. In some countries, such as Japan, kids take lunches to school in stylish reusable containers. Kids like eating this way, and the leftover food can be saved for later. Also, my kids never took ownership of my tupperware, so it ended up lost or thrown away. They do take ownership of their Laptop Lunches because they belong to them, they fit together like a puzzle, and they’re cool. Give ’em a try!

Amy,
I thought I didn’t have any parent readers. When did you come along?
<---Hoping this is a reader and not the Director of Marketing for Laptop Lunches.
