  1. I guess I’d say the latter (since Purple Rose and Radio Days are my two favorites of his), probably because they’re such great storytelling and not just an extended Woody standup-comic routine.

    I’m with you. Radio Days is my favorite and, much as I enjoy Manhattan and Annie Hall, they both feel like repeated formulas later in his career. Crimes and Mistomeanors remains one of his best. In that one, he just seems unnecessary.
