Numb3rs:
Have you seen Numb3ers (pronounced Numbers, not Numb-3-ers), a new crime drama on CBS? It’s pretty damn good and I don’t sign on for new shows all that often, if at all. But I love crime dramas and I think the math twist is pretty interesting. Plus its nice to see Rob Morrow and Peter MacNicol breaking out of their old TV armour and trying something new.
Friday Nights at 10, I think. I TiVo it. Also it’s got a fan site.
I’ve seen a few episodes and really like it. I’m sure the math is probably about as realistic as the forensics on CSI, but I’m willing to suspend my disbelief for an hour a week.

Numb3rs is the best new show I’ve latched on to in a long, long while. Incredible cast, and the creators are outstanding!
I am not mathematically inclined by any definition, but even I learn a little each week.
If you haven’t seen it yet, give it a chance…I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy what you see!

Numb3rs is my fave TV show last season and this season. I’m glad they are coming back. 🙂

Numb3rs is an incredible show. It takes away shock tactics and adds wit, intellect, and drama. I adore it. The math actually is 100% accurate and used in actual crime investigations. It’s been checked by the top mathematicians AND rechecked by FBI analysts and the sort.
the characters are incredible, and their interactions are what draws me to the show each week! I reccomend anyone who wants to have a great show, feel good and smart, and would like to have fun, watch this show.

No none of the above or I work for the show. We are just fans of one of the best shows on.
I like Numb3rs it is not just another crime show, it is also about a family. A family that fights crime.

I just found your site by searching out mentions of Peter MacNicol, and yes, he’s the reason I’m watching and loving Numb3rs. Though the show is often billed as a procedural, it has much in common with Crossing Jordan (another show I like) in featuring strong relationships both familial and professional. And an academic myself, it’s nice to see academia treated seriously, and to see intellect and interdisciplinarity actually valued in a TV culture in which gadgets and guns often take priority over conversation and ideas.
