And Now for 2 Annnoying Technical Questions:
1) Several utilities (Keychain, Disk Utility) on my iMacG5 refuse to open. Or rather they open and shut. I’m using Tiger. Anyone know why this is?
2) Does anyone know how to record a conversation in Skype without hearing the echo of both conversationalists on each other’s computer speakers?
Answer in any order you like.

I can help w/ number 1 (but I don’t use Skype). The first steps to diagnose any Mac problem are:
1. Run Repair Disk Permissions (in Disk Utility).
2. Run fsck: reboot the machine while holding Apple+S, and when you get to the prompt, type in: fsck -f – let it do its thing (this is the easier version of booting from the CD and running disk utility.
3. If that doesn’t do it, go download OnyX (search for it on Versiontracker) and run all the maintenance scripts. That probably won’t be necessary since this isn’t a Powerbook, but just in case.
Those three steps usually keep my Powerbook running smoothly, and kick it back into shape when it’s not.

#2: Audio Hijack Pro? I haven’t actually tried recording a skype conversation, but I would assume AHP would work.

I am using AHP Neil, but the echo persists.
