SXSW2009: Everyday Glory, D. Keith Robinson

My old friend Keith Robinson was the absolute first person, (save roommate James McNally) I ran into at SXSW 2009. We practically knocked heads at a ridiculously crowded Opening Party at a bar called the Ginger Man which I snuck into by moving a garbage bin and squeezing through a back gate.

I recommend this establishment for its excellent back patio and long deep booths. Since I don't drink, I judge most bars by how they treat my rear end.

Anyway, Keith is the creative director of Blue Flavor, an amazing Seattle design house that handled all the beneath-the-drywall wiring at South by Southwest's site. On his own, he's always working on about 6 different personal projects and mainting a brace of personal websites, enviable as I find twittering a few times a day like an hour at the gym.

Keith's designs are simple, strong and out of my price range. One day I'll have him remake these digs and pay him with my left ankle.

He used to have a music podcast I loved which has since vanished beneath the digital horizon. He now keeps it down, musically speaking at Danger is my First Name.com. Not many free mp3's here but like its podcast ancestor, it manages to be cool without sneering at me because I still think The Alarm is cool, an ethos my fragile ego appreciated.

We gabbed a bunch, caught up, (we only seen to run each other at SXSW or WebVisions) and I headed off into the evening and a week's worth of delightful, chance encounters.
