Trailer Trash:

Is it me or does the trailer for Quinten Tarantino’s new film Kill Bill look an ad for some martial arts soft drink?

  1. I’ve seen it, too. Thing is, I reaallly like it. I think a lot of that, though, is just inside-the-club, get-the-joke kind of kitschiness (and the fights scenes look cool, if incredibly staged). Basically, Tarantino hasn’t let me down before, and I know how well he’s treated subjects he’s loved in the past, and I know he’s a huuuuge fan of chop-sockey, so his take on it should be worth a look. I’m psyched. And yes, it does look like an ad for martial arts soft drink.

  3. Hey, I ain’t sayin’ it’s going to be a bad movie. I just though it was funny that it barely looks like a movie trailer at all.

  7. I love Quinten Tarantino’s films but this movie trailer made this movie look like he was trying to get in on the all too popular Matrix fad. Which doesn’t seem like Tarantino’s style. Personally, I don’t like these martial artsy movies. That’s why I like his films so much. They were cool flowing with smooth talkers and that good old fashioned violence.

  9. I’m sure there’s a glibby articulated post-modern ironic explanation for this trailer. But I’m sticking with the “soft drink of Kung Fu”
