  1. I.F. Stone was a hero of mine. I wrote a college paper about him, and he invited me to Washington, D.C. for a visit and interview at his townhouse there. An unforgettable day.
    One of my favorite (approximate) quotes of his: “Establishment reporters know a lot of things I don’t know. Unfortunately, a lot of what they know isn’t true.”
